Krati Jain is not disappointed with her decision to be part of an exhibition-cum-sale in the city as there is good public response to her collection of Indo-western clothes comprising latest trends. “In the morning, we had some good buyers but as the day progressed, most of the visitors are window shopping,” she said expressing hope that in the evening, the place will receive serious buyers.
Ms. Jain has come all the way from Kolkata to put up a stall at the ‘Boutiques of India’, a two-day expo that kicked off at ‘A’ Convention hall on Thursday.
Her collection of elegant designer suits showcased bang opposite the main entrance attract people walking in.
A few yards away from her is Gupteswar Jain from Delhi who has carted in bedsheets, bed covers, quilts, pillows and a range of other furnishing material under the brand name of Rasberrie. Mr. Gupteswar, along with many other traders from Delhi, is part of the event. “Business is a little slow,” he observes but adds that he is hopeful that it will pick up in the rest of the day.
Devineni Anupama, wife of Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, inaugurated the exhibition. She said it was good to see designers and traders from across the country flocking to Amaravati that was the cynosure of all eyes.
Designer saris, bridal saris and latest trends in the clothing segment were brought in by designers from Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Rajasthan, Jaipur, Gujarat, Varanasi and other places to cater to the needs of the local crowd.
The venue is awash with colours of designer saris, handloom saris, designer blouses, silver articles, dress material, jewellery for party wear, dupattas, stoles, leggings and footwear.
The event is open till 9 p.m. on Friday (June 15).
