TTD to develop Vellore school

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to develop the Sri Venkateswara Higher Secondary School in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu.

Addressing students at the school on Friday, TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav mentioned personalities that the school had produced, including former Kerala Governor and Union Minister P. Ramachandran, and economist and former Vice-Chancellor of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Vedagiri Shanmuga Sundaram.

The school, located on the border with Andhra Pradesh, was started in 1876 and upgraded to a higher secondary school in 1978. It teaches students in Tamil, Telugu and English media.
