Tiruchanur Teppotsavams from May 29

The five-day annual Teppotsavams of Sri Padmavathi Devi will be observed from May 29. These festival is held from ‘Jyestha Suddha Ekadasi’ to ‘Pournami’ for five days every year.

On the first day of the festival, the idols of Lord Krishnaswamy, Rukmini and Satyabhama will be carried on a finely decorated float (Teppa) in Padma Sarovaram.

On the second day, Sundera Raja Swamy will grace the float and on the remaining three days, the goddess will take the celestial ride in all splendour.

Teppotsavams will be conducted every day between 6.30 pm to 7.30pm.

A day after the fete, Goddess Padmavathi will ride the auspicious Aswa Vahanam and Garuda Vahanam on first and second days respectively, from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Meanwhile, the TTD has cancelled ‘Kalyanotsavam’, ‘Unjal Seva’ and ‘Lakshmi Puja’.
