Three arrested, booty recovered

Three men accused of robbing passengers by showing a toy pistol have been nabbed by the Central Crime Station (CCS) police of Guntur Urban Police District.

The three men, Sk Nagarjuna, K. Prakash and R. Prasangi, have been accused of robbing passengers at various places in the district over a period of four months.

Sarva Sreshta Tripathi, the CCS and the Nallapadu police conducted a joint operation and seized Rs. 87,500, a gold ring and an Indica car.

Additional SP, Guntur Urban, B. Srinivasulu said the team had been involved in a series of incidents at Santhamagaluru, Durgi, Nakerikallu and Nallapadu. Posing as taxi drivers, they park the car near bus stations and market places in late hours of the day. After reaching the outskirts, they threaten passengers by showing a toy pistol and relieve them of all valuables.
