The result of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams would be declared on Saturday, said Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivas here on Wednesday setting speculation to rest.

Speaking after releasing the password for online ECET exams that commenced on Wednesday, the Minister said the result of the Eamcet would be released on Friday (May 5).

He said 3,993 students were appearing for the ECET test in AP being conducted by the JNTU-Anantapur.

The University set up 133 centres in Andhra Pradesh and three in Telangana.

Online mode

In a first of its kind, he claimed, Andhra Pradesh had tasked its various universities with conducting these common entrance tests in online mode. “All entrance tests like the Eamcet, Lawcet and the ECET would be conducted by various universities in online mode. The JNTU-Kakinada had recently conducted the Eamcet and now it is JNTU-Anantapur which is organising the ECET,” he said.

He said that as part of its endeavour to transform the State into a knowledge centre and an education hub, the government was taking utmost care to integrate values in the education system in a manner that it would become worthy of emulation by other States. All vacant posts in the universities would be filled, he assured, adding that over 15% of funds were allocated to the Education sector in the budget.

He said reforms were introduced in the sector to set high standards.

Officials of the Education Department were present at the press meet.

Kakinada Staff Reporter adds: The Minister will release the results in the State Guesthouse, Vijayawada, at 3 p.m. in the presence of his Cabinet colleagues Kamineni Srinivas, Somireddi Chandramohan Reddy and Ch. Adinarayana Reddy. Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Educaiton S. Vijaya Raju and other officials would also be present.

Convener of the APEamcet-2017 and Registrar of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK), Ch. Sai Babu, in a statement here on Wednesday, said the computer-based entrance test was conducted for three days from April 24 at different centres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The results and rank cards would be available on the websites: www.sche.ap.gov.in/Eamcet, www.vidyavision.com, www.manabadi.com, www.manabadi.co.in, www.99results.com, www.schools9.com, www.kabconsultants.com and www.vidyasamachar.com, the press release said.
