Even before the massive public outrage after the incident in which a nine-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a 55-year-old man at Dachepalli subsided, a new incident in which a 17-year-old was allegedly impregnated by a mandal co-option member came to light at Gurazala on Saturday. The girl with symptoms of vomiting, was admitted to Area Hospital in Gurazala.
Sk. Mabuvali (45) was charged by the Gurazala police with outraging the modesty of the 17-year-old girl. The girl had lost her mother and was growing up in her sister’s house. Tense moments were witnessed at the Area Hospital where relatives of the victim staged a demonstration demanding that the accused be given stringent punishment.
Superintendent of Police, Guntur Rural, Ch. Venkat Appalanaidu said the accused was arrested and produced in court.
