‘Telangana people want present phase of stir to be final one’

September 01, 2012 09:32 am | Updated July 01, 2016 07:41 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The BJP and people of Telangana want the present phase of agitation for separate statehood to be the eventual one as further delay in the decision on the issue will cause immense loss to the region development-wise, State unit president of BJP G. Kishan Reddy has said.

Speaking at a ‘meet-the-press’ programme organised by Telangana Journalists Union here on Friday ahead of BJP’s ‘Telangana Poru Deeksha – Satyagraha’ at Delhi from September 3 to 5 pressing for a Bill on Telangana in Parliament, Mr. Reddy said there was no development in Telangana, particularly after the 2009 movement and the woes of people were piling up on all fronts due to continuing injustice.

Sonia, Naidu blamed

He blamed All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu for the stalemate and suicides by 856 youth for the cause of Telangana.

“Further delay on Telangana will only add to the lack of confidence between people of different regions in the State, widen psychological barriers and build suspicion,” Mr. Kishan Reddy said.
