Telugu Desam Party leaders have stepped up their agitation against the Centre by holding a series of protests across the district. In Guntur, Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Ananda Babu led a protest at the Ambedkar statue centre in which hundreds of party workers, who sported black badges, took part.

Addressing the party members, Mr. Ananda Babu decried the ‘step-motherly treatment meted out to the State by the Centre’ and said that the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had revealed the true nature of the Centre towards the State.

“By referring to the YSR Congress Party, Mr. Modi had revealed the nature of the unholy alliance which the BJP had with the YSRCP. And now people know the game plan and BJP and YSRCP are hand in glove with each other,’’ said Mr. Ananda Babu.

TDP district unit president G.V. Anjaneyulu said that the people of the State were not ready to be deceived yet again by the national parties and would teach the BJP a befitting lesson.

Telugu Yuvatha State president Naga Malleswara Rao said that the youth wing of the party would step up the agitation and would soon hold protests outside Central government offices.
