State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Saturday accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Ministers of campaigning against the NDA government despite getting wholehearted support and huge financial assistance from it.

More than 75% of the developmental works in the State were being funded by the Centre. Yet, the Modi government was being shown in poor light.

‘Intintiki BJP’

Mr. Lakshminarayana visited Palasa in Srikakulam Parliamentary constituency and Etcherla in Vizianagaram Parliamentary constituency to gear up the cadres to actively take part in the ‘Intintiki BJP’ campaign. Addressing a public meeting at Palasa, he said the Centre had released ₹768 crore towards compensation for Titli cyclone victims and assured more assistance to them from the Disaster Management Fund. Former MP Kaniti Viswanatham and party’s Tekkali in-charge Hanumanthu Uday Bhaskar told Mr. Lakshminarayana that the compensation had not been paid to genuine victims, and this should be brought to the notice of the Centre.

Party’s Ethcelra in-charge S.V. Sanyasi Rao and Yuva Morcha State vice- president Rajesh Kumar sought Mr. Lakshminarayana’s intervention for the release of the fishermen from Srikakulam who were arrested by the Pakistan Coast Guard.

‘Corruption rampant’

Earlier, Mr. Lakshminarayana told the party leaders to highlight the rampant corruption in the State and giving publicity to the Central schemes that were allegedly being implemented with new names in the State.

A few leaders sought declaration of the names of the Assembly candidates as early as possible.
