Upping the ante: YSRCP activists taking out a bike rally, marking the completion of 2,000 km of ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’, in Nellore on Wednesday.

Accusing the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of deceiving people in the name of Special Category Status (SCS) status for the last four years, the YSRCP activists staged a protest in front of the Collectorate here on Wednesday.

The protesters led by party district unit president K. Kanna Babu gathered near the entrance gate of the Collectorate and raised slogans against the State government.

“The TDP has never been sincere for achieving Special Category Status for the State and that is why it had agreed to the special package offered by the Centre. It’s YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy who have been fighting relentlessly for the cause,” he said.

‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’

Observing that the ongoing ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’ launched by Mr. Jagan was evoking an overwhelming response from people, he said that it clearly indicated that people had been fed up with the policies adopted by the TDP government. Party leaders D. Chandrasekhar Reddy, Kandula Durgesh and others took part in the protest.
