Chittoor district has got a fair deal in the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) reorganised Central and State committees, be it caste composition, regional balance or the mix of seasoned leaders and greenhorns, sources said.
Chittoor legislator D.A. Satyaprabha, widow of former MP and TTD trust board Chairman D.K. Audikesavulu Naidu, has been made vice-president in the party’s Central Committee, which is considered a significant elevation for the first-time MLA.
N.P. Venkateswara Choudary retained his vice-president post in the State Committee. The appointment of Gurajala Malyadri, B.N. Rajasimhulu (Dorababu) and G. Narasimha Yadav as State organising secretaries was very much on expected lines. While Mr. Rajasimhulu of Chittoor and Mr. Narasimha Yadav of Tirupati are likely to play proactive roles in taking the message to the masses, Mr. Malyadri may be retained in the party office. “Our responsibility has grown manifold. Now, we have to work harder than to meet the expectations of people”, Mr. Yadav said.
The party high command has offered respectable positions even to the leaders who joined the TDP from other parties ahead of the 2014 elections. Noted urologist Cipai Subramanyam and BC leader Inukonda Subramanyam, who switched loyalty to the TDP last year from the erstwhile Praja Rajyam, have been made State secretaries. However, senior district leaders Soora Sudhakar Reddy, Neelam Balaji and M. Mohan Rao, all aspiring for a berth in the State panel, were disappointed.
Many leaders are already sore over the non-filling of nominated posts even after a year of TDP coming to power.
Now, those who could not secure a berth even in party forums are feared to openly give vent to their heartburn.
