Swine flu toll reaches 12 in Kurnool

Six patients with suspected symptoms being treated in GGH

Twelve persons died of ‘swine flu’ in the district so far.

According to a bulletin released by the Government General Hospital here, a 50-year-old woman, hailing from Jupadu Bungalow area of the district, succumbed to the disease on Monday morning, after undergoing treatment for eight days at the hospital.

On October 28 (Sunday), a four-year-old girl passed away in the Swine Flu ICU.

Till date, 30 persons have tested positive for the H1N1 virus and 12 of them died while 12 were discharged from the hospital after treatment. The remaining six are undergoing treatment at the isolation ward.

On Monday, the hospital management has opened a separate OP for screening swine flu cases and, among them, six suspected cases were identified and are being treated at the hospital.
