Police investigation into the murder of a 17-old Intermediate student, whose body was found buried in a dried up well at Bapatla, pointed out to the role of her step-father, who is now in police custody.
The accused reportedly confessed to have escorted the girl to an isolated place behind the Agricultural Market Yard, sexually molested her and later, strangled her to death on January 6. A missing case was registered on the next day. The man reportedly told the police that he had asked the girl to accompany him to collect firewood in the evening and raped her. Earlier, the girl fell in love with a youngster and the couple had even attempted suicide after elders chided them. The pThe police with the help of girl’s mother, Mandru Subbamma, identified the body. A post mortem report is awaited.
