: Andhra Pradesh Government has constituted AP State Sagaramala Committee chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to provide oversight and coordinate activities for implementation of Sagarmala project. Besides the Chief Minister, the Minister in-charge of ports and 33 officials from various State and Central departments are the members of the committee.

Sagaramala is a strategic customer-oriented initiative of the Government of India to evolve model of port-led development. It aims to integrate development of ports, industrial clusters, hinterland and efficient evacuation systems through road, rail, inland and coastal water ways, resulting in ports becoming the drivers of economic activity in coastal areas, according to a GO issued here on Thursday. Visakhapatnam, Gangavaram and Kakinada Port cluster is one of the two clusters identified to be taken up on the East Coast and West Coast.
