State bags third place in rural skill development

Andhra .P.radesh Skill Development Corporation (APSDC) has been ranked third in the country and won the Rural Skill Development Award under the Government of India’s Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana.

The ranking was announced on Thursday after the State’s Skill Development Corporation made a presentation on its achievements so far, according to K. Sambasiva Rao, Managing Director and CEO of APSDC.

He said that the State competed with Maharastra and Bihar to bag the third place.

Mr. Rao said that in the year 2017-18 APSDC trained over 17,972 candidates against 9,407 candidates last year and registered a 91% growth. As many as 10,923 candidates have been placed this year with a growth of 83% in placements.

The State will receive the award from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 5 at Ranchi.
