In less than a span of three weeks, the famous Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateswara has primed itself this time in a big way to host the nine-day annual Navaratri Brahmotsavams scheduled to commence from Wednesday.
With the Dasara holidays also synchronising with the festival period the temple administration which expects a huge turnout in the pilgrim crowd has made elaborate arrangements to meet the requirements of the devout.
Apart from cancelling all the ‘arjitha sevas’ performed inside the hill temple during the festival period, the management besides limiting the issue of Rs.300/- special darshan tickets also has dispensed it completely on the day of Garuda Seva on October 18 with an intention to allocate more darshan hours for the common pilgrims.
After the performance of Suprabhatam in the wee hours of the day, the management has resolved to run uninterrupted darshan lines all through the day with a brief interval for naivedhyam and other obligatory rituals.
While the procession of Pushpaka Vimanam will be organised on October 19, the Rathotsavam (Golden chariot) will be observed on 21st – on the penultimate day and Chakrasnanam on 22nd will mark the conclusion of the religious carnival.
