Stage set for Ratha Saptami tomorrow

The Lord will be taken out on seven ‘vahanams’ on a single day

The sacred hill abode of Lord Venkateswara is spruced up for the grand conduct of the annual Ratha Sapthami festival on Monday.

Immense importance is attached to this mega religious carnival as the Lord is brought out on as many as seven different ‘vahanams’ in a single day.

The TTD on its part has made elaborate arrangements to meet the requirements of the visiting pilgrims.

The expectations of the temple administration stand furthered heightened with string of holidays coming in a row. Besides completing the works relating to the barricading of the open top galleries, the management also has ensured completion of the artistic painting of colourful motifs and erecting of ‘Sapthadwaralu’ around the Mada streets encircling the hill shrine. TTD Executive officer D. Sambasiva Rao also has passed on special instructions to the Health, Medical and paramedical officials to ready to meet any kind of eventuality arising out of the situation as the influx in the visiting crowd will be at its zenith.The festival which shall take off to a spiritual start with the procession of ‘Surya Prabha Vahanam’ in the early hours of the day shall conclude with ‘Chandraprabha Vahanam’ in the night.Besides annulling the performance of all the ‘arjitha sevas’ inside the temple the management also has cancelled various forms of privileged darsan formats and also has resolved to restrict the VIP darsan format only those who come under the protocol category.
