With the conduct of ‘Chakra Snanam’, curtains came down on the annual Brahmotsavams of the TTD-run Sri Govindaraja temple here on Wednesday.

The processional deities of the Lord and His consorts were taken along with the idol of the holy discus ‘Sudarsana Chakra’ in a procession to Kapila Theertham, also known as Alwar Theertham. After a celestial bath, the idol of ‘Sudarsana Chakra’ was given a holy dip in the tank in the prescribed auspicious hours.

Temple pontiffs Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Deputy Executive Officer (Local temples) V.Varalakshmi and Assistant Executive Officer Udayabhaskar Reddy were among the participants.

In the evening, ‘Dhwaja Avarohanam’ was performed when the sacred flag ‘Dhwaja Patam’ hoisted atop the flag post on the first day was unfurled and brought down, signalling the close of the annual festival.
