Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju on Tuesday night made surprise inspections of various police stations and sub-divisional office at Madanapalle in the newly carved Annamayya district.

The SP during interaction with Deputy SP (Madanapalle) A. Ravi Manohar Achari and circle-inspectors of urban and rural circles said that top priority should be given to implementing people-friendly policing, and intensification of night patrols, and creating awareness on the Disha App among the public.

As the Madanapalle revenue division forms the vital region in the newly carved Annamayya district, the SP took stock of the available manpower and infrastructure facilities in the police stations.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Achari said the sub-division was well equipped with the required police staff. He said that the SP had urged the police personnel to immediately bring to his notice in case of any important requirements such as staff and facilities. “We have urged the SP to initiate steps for creating a traffic police station in Madanapalle given the growing congestion of vehicles in the town, which is connected to the highways towards Bengaluru and Tirupati,” he said.

The official said that the awareness campaigns on the Disha App and other women's safety measures would be extensively carried out in educational institutions and rural areas.
