Sivaramakrishna takes over as GITAM Vice-Chancellor

Prof. K. Sivaramakrishna took over as the Vice-Chancellor of GITAM Deemed to be University here on Wednesday.

GITAM President M. Sribharath, Vice-President M. Gangadhara Rao, Registrar K.V.G.D. Balaji, Secretary B.V. Mohana Rao and Joint Secretary M. Bharadwaj were present at the function where the new V-C assumed charge.

Prof. Sivaramakrishna has over 33 years of experience in teaching, research and administration. An academic topper, national-level NCC para-trooper and athlete, he was awarded a specially instituted gold medal for the best all-rounder during his graduation, secured university third rank in his PG and won the Andhra University gold medal for the best doctoral thesis.

Subsequently, as teacher since 1985 and Dean and Principal of GITAM Institute of Management from 2007 to 2016, he combined his passion for teaching with administrative acumen, contributing to making the institute one of the best in the region.

He is responsible for the initiation of several innovative management courses and signing of MoUs with renowned international universities. He has organised over 50 national and international seminars and conferences. He has completed a UGC major research project on HRD interventions in technical education. He has authored 12 books and numerous scholarly articles, and has guided several PhD and M. Phil students.
