Seemandhra Congress leaders on Tuesday stayed away from the meeting of the A.K. Antony Committee insisting that they would do so only when it comes to Hyderabad.
Sources said though, the central leadership had hinted that the committee members would be available at the war room from Tuesday evening, the Seemandhra Congress Ministers and elected representatives who are now in New Delhi decided against it.
It is understood that they turned down the request of central leaders.
A senior Congress leader said the high command wanted the Ministers and the legislators to meet the committee in Delhi as they were busy with the Parliament session. For the same reason, the committee members may not be able to come to Hyderabad. But Seemandhra leaders were reluctant.
PCC president Botcha Satyanaryana, who reached Delhi on Tuesday, is planning to request the panel to visit the State for at least two days to interact with the delegation of party leaders from all the three regions.
Before coming to Delhi, he met the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to finalise the list of delegations and groups likely to meet the panel members.
