Members of the Rayalaseema Students’ Union Joint Action Committee scaled a cell tower here on Thursday to press for their demand for location of High Court and State capital as per the Sribagh agreement.

At Sai Nagar behind District Collector’s office, two youths -- Raghurama Reddy and P. Prakash -- climbed a cell tower and tied a banner highlighting their demand.

Following information, the personnel from One Town police station went to the spot and persuaded them to climb down. Later, the youths were arrested and taken to the police station.

The JAC proposed a bandh on Thursday, but the Superintendent of Police and District Collector appealed to it drop the plan in view of examinations.

Union district general secretary Karanam Manoj Chowdary said the agitation would continue in different forms in association with all sections of people from Rayalaseema districts to achieve the demand.
