RPO issues 600 passports at passport seva camp

SP Vishal Gunni inaugurates immigration office at Krishnapatnam port

Over 600 passports were issued by the Regional Passport Office (RPO) at a passport seva camp held at the Krishnapatnam port premises in the Muthukur coastal area here in Nellore district with the objective of reaching all sections of employees, staff and local people there.

Regional Passport Officer E. Vishnuvardhan Reddy and his team of officials from Hyderabad arrived here and organized the two day camp on Saturday and Sunday.

SP Vishal Gunni inaugurated the newly established immigration office on the occasion. Krishnapatnam Port Chief Executive Officer Anil Yendluri, Chief Operating Officer S. Subba Rao and other officials were present.

A large number of employees and local public came forward to avail themselves of the passport seva camp as they arrived there with their family members to submit their applications. The officials processed and verified the applications on the spot.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said that the passport services have been streamlined and simplified in a greater measure than ever before, so as to ensure every citizen get these services without any difficulty that was witnessed in the past.

He said that as part of the reforms process, the passport seva kendras are being opened soon at the main post offices in Kadapa and Nellore district headquarters thanks to which the local citizens would be able to avail of these facilities with greater ease.

Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said that among the nations of the world, India had come to occupy the 3rd place as far as the distribution of passports to its citizens was concerned.

Mr. Vishal Gunni said that the police verifications were being speeded up to facilitate early distribution of passports and that the police department had been working in close coordination with the RPO in this regard.
