Rotary’s spell bee evokes good response

Rotary Club of Vijayawada, as part of its annual youth services activities, organised a spell bee contest here on Sunday.

School students took part in the competitions enthusiastically coming out with the correct spellings with proper pronunciation much to the delight of the club members, parents and guests, who assembled in a good number.

In the senior category, P. Srivalli, C.S.N. Rahul and Harsh J. Shah won the first three prizes while K. Satvik bagged the consolation prize.

In the junior’s category, Raveena Jakkula, Yogitha and Srutha Keerthi won the three prizes and a special prize was given to V. Jaswanthi.

Speaking at the prize distribution function, K Narayana Murthy, the club director for youth service activities, emphasised the importance of memory, diction pronunciation to master a language.

Rotary Club of Vijayawada president Bhagavantha Rao, secretary D. Naveen, director Ch. Narayana, R. Venkat and Publicity Committee Chairman Pulipaka Krishnaji were present.
