BJP official spokesperson G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy has announced that he would spend a night in the Seshachalam forest to bring attention to the indiscriminate felling of red sanders trees. “I will submit a representation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the smuggling activities soon,” said Mr. Reddy, who had earlier undertaken a day-long trek through the forest to highlight the issue. Mr. Bhanu Prakash said that he would spend the Thursday night at the Vakulamatha temple atop the Peruru hillock on the outskirts of Tirupati, prior to taking oath as a trust board member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on the next day morning.
