Ramalinga Raju and others released from jail

Former Satyam Computer chairman B. Ramalinga Raju and nine others lodged in the Cherlapally jail after they were convicted of fraud on Wednesday walked to freedom on bail following submission of sureties and payment of 10 per cent of fine amount due from them as ordered by the sessions’ court which granted the bail on Monday.

Ramalinga Raju and his brother Rama Raju furnished sureties of Rs 1 lakh each while the others did so for Rs 50,000 each in the court of the CBI cases that tried them. The court ordered their release which was communicated to jail authorities in the evening.

They could not be released on Tuesday as the formalities could not be completed.
