Expressing satisfaction over the pace at which the works for ensuing ‘Godavari Pushkaralu’ are going, Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana on Monday exuded confidence that all the construction works would be completed by the end of June and the works pertaining to some bathing ghats sanctioned recently would be completed by first week of July.

Reviewing arrangements for the ‘Pushkaralu’ with officials and elected representatives here after inspecting the ongoing construction works, Mr. Narayana said that over 95 per cent of the works were already completed.

“We are confident that the balance part of the works will be over by this month-end. Officials are on the job of monitoring the works. Our aim is to conduct the grand event in a hassle-free manner,” he said.

Referring to the budget, Mr. Narayana said that a sum of Rs. 1,400 crore had been allocated by the government for conducting ‘Pushkaralu’ on a grand scale.

“We are focusing on ensuring 100 per cent sanitation. A good number of toilets are being constructed adjacent to the bathing ghats and pilgrim amenities centres,” he said.

The Minister advised the officials to ensure timely completion of the ‘Pushkar Nagar’ makeshift pilgrim amenities centre works and not to compromise on the quality of construction works.
