Probe land allotments: TD

‘Large scale irregularities in allotment to companies in IT-SEZ and Financial District'

September 05, 2011 11:27 am | Updated 11:27 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has sought an inquiry into “large scale irregularities” in the allotment of land to companies in the IT-SEZ and Financial District in Gachibowli-Nanakramguda here.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, TDP leader P. Keshav said it was a bigger scam than Emaar Properties as the land was allotted to companies belonging to those who were close to former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy indiscriminately without following guidelines.

He alleged that huge money had changed hands in the allotment of land as it was given away at throwaway price.

Apart from YSR, his Cabinet colleagues and his close associate K.V.P Ramachandra Rao were responsible for the irregularities, he alleged. Land in the two projects was allotted at Rs. 25 to 50 lakh per acre when the market price was about Rs. 20 to 25 crore per acre in the area, he added.

Firms favoured

He alleged that AR Financial Solutions, Alif Resources & Infrastructure, Prakruti Infrastructure & Land Development Co., Bhuviteja Enterprises, Neuland Laboratories, and Max Solutions were some of the companies that were shown favour in the allotment.

Many companies that were allotted land were yet to set up their ventures even now, he said.

He requested Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to order an inquiry into these irregularities. The TDP would approach the court if the government failed to tell facts to the people, he asserted.

Defend Naidu

Meanwhile, the TDP condemned criticism of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu by leaders of the Congress, YSR Congress, BJP and the TRS against his declaration of assets and said they have no moral right to do so without disclosing their assets.

Party general secretary Varla Ramaiah told mediapersons on Sunday that Congress leaders like J.C. Diwakar Reddy and Botcha Satyanarayana were criticising Mr. Naidu's instead of welcoming the act.
