BJP city president M. Nagendra announcing the appointment of K. Suhasini Anand as State official spokesperson, in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. MLC P.V.N. Madhav is seen.

MLC P.V.N. Madhav has questioned the need for 53,000 PD accounts in A.P. with ₹58,000 crore lying in them, in contrast with 24,000 PD accounts having ₹8,000 crore in Telangana. Mr. Madhav was speaking after the announcement of K. Suhasini Anand as the State official spokesperson by BJP city president M. Nagendra here on Thursday.

For raising the PD accounts’ issue and pointing out the discrepancy, the TDP leaders were resorting to personal, verbal attacks against BJP Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, he said, demanding an inquiry into the scam.

He said work on the IIM in Visakhapatnam could not be started as the State government did not provide water for it. He further said, though Petroleum University had been sanctioned to the State, the State government had so far not allotted land for the same.

Mr. Madhav demanded that the report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on land scandals be made public.

On the railway zone issue, he said the NDA government would fulfil the promise.

Thanking State party president Kanna Lakshminarayana for her appointment, Ms. Anand said she would work for the party and take up issues pertaining to the people.

Party State executive members P.V. Narayana Rao, S.V.S. Prakash Reddy and B. Narendra Prakash were present.
