APSCHE Vice-Chairperson receives complaints from various persons

Based on the reports appeared in a section of the media in the recent times, the Department of Higher Education has initiated a probe into the irregularities in appointments made in Sri Venkateswara University.

APSCHE Vice-Chairperson V. Valli Kumari, who has been appointed as an inquiry officer to hold a detailed probe into the allegations against the Registrar M. Devarajulu and other officials, arrived at the campus here on Tuesday and held discussions with a cross section of the public. The probe is into the irregular appointments, appointment of academic consultants and also compassionate appointments made on dubious grounds of medical invalidation. As many as 27 cases of such appointments have reportedly been made during the period under question.

Members of various Employees Joint Action Council (JAC), caste-based outfits, students, research scholars, teaching and non-teaching staff, group of advocates etc met Prof. Kumari and gave her their versions of the incidents, which were promptly recorded. After receiving inputs, Prof. Kumari offered to visit the campus once again soon for hearing to more stakeholders.
