The Chittoor police have intensified search operations as part of investigation into the murder of Chittoor Mayor Katari Anuradha and her husband Katari Mohan on Tuesday.

According to a police communique, notices are being served to all associates of Chandrasekhar alias Chintu (nephew of Katari Mohan). The house of one of the accused (A2), Venkatachalapathi at Mulabhagal in Karnataka was thoroughly searched by the special party on Saturday. A special team was also deputed to examine all the financial transactions of Chintu.

Meanwhile, a search party had examined the office of Chintu at Ganganapalle, and the CCTV camera footage at his office was seized. The footage is expected to assist police in gathering details about the regular visitors to Chintu’s office. Police are also verifying the call data of Chintu during the last three months.

In the wake of the gruesome murder of Katari couple, police have provided tight security to their son, Praveen, and family members.

During preliminary probe, police found that the masked gang had also tried to kill Praveen, and Anuradha’s brothers Gopi and Kishore. Meanwhile, Sateesh, an associate of the slain Katari Mohan, was discharged from the Christian Medical College Hospital at Vellore on Friday. Chittoor DSP Mr. Lakshmi Naidu said the police were providing him tight security, since he happens to be the prime witness to the gruesome killings.
