After according a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he laid the foundation stone for capital city Amaravati about four years ago, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cadre staged a “Gandhian protest” against the PM’s visit to the State on Sunday.

Mr. Modi is visiting the State for the first time after the TDP pulled out of the NDA last year.

Large posters of “No more Modi”and “Modi never again” have come up across the State. Calling Mr. Modi’s visit a “black day” for the people of the State, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday asked the TDP workers to hold Gandhian protests during Mr. Modi’s visit.

Mr. Naidu wrote to Mr. Modi on Saturday on the SCS and promises made to Andhra Pradesh at the time of bifurcation.

Meanwhile, on Twitter #GoBackModi has been trending.
