Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday promised to groom one lakh GenX farmers across the State taking a leaf out of Princeton University’s vertical farming project.
The JSP if voted to power would make farming profitable by providing all support to the young farmers including investment subsidy and transfer of latest agriculture technologies, he said at a series of public meetings in Giddalur and Darsi in Prakasam district. “Each of the progressive farmers will be in a position to generate gainful employment for at least 12 families.
Pension for farmers
“The first file to be signed by me as CM will be the one on providing monthly pension of ₹5,000 to farmers,” he said amid loud cheers. Farmers’ accounts would be credited with ₹8,000 each at the beginning of the farming season, he said.
Taking suggestions from persons like former Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary P. Rama Mohana Rao, who hailed from the district, he would chalk out agriculture and industrial policies to leapfrog in growth. The Veligonda project, lifeline of the district, would be completed within 18 months of coming to power, he promised.
Irked by repeated charges that the JSP was hand in glove with the TDP, he challenged the YSRC to make public its covert understanding with the BJP and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti.
He was perplexed why the YSRCP was resorting to false propaganda even after he had reiterated umpteen number of times that his party would go only with the Left parties and the Bahujan Samaj Party to provide an alternative to the TDP and the YSRCP which had failed to live up to the people’s expectation.
Free LPG
He also said without any income ceiling, women would be provided six to 10 cooking gas cylinders per year free of cost depending upon the size of the family. They need not buy substandard essential commodities from ration shops. A transfer of ₹2,500 to ₹3,500 would be provided for them to purchase groceries from the open market. Each family would also be provided medical insurance of ₹10 lakh each and also free education from LKG to PG to their children.
He promised the youth to fill up three lakh vacancies in various posts in government departments and recruitment of another 25,000 commandos by the Police Department. Jobless youth could appear for competitive examinations as many times as they want by paying a one-time fee, he added.
