Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan on Thursday volunteered to bring about an understanding between the Kapus and the BCs without hurting their sentiments.

“I can bring Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham and representatives of the BC organisations onto one platform and initiate a dialogue. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has tried to drive a wedge between the Kapus and the BCs. But I will try my best to resolve the Kapu reservation issue in an amicable manner,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said while addressing a public meeting at Ganapavaram.

“We will consider the option of increasing the BC reservations by 5% to ensure the Kapus and the BCs a win-win situation. It is unfortunate that Mr. Naidu is making all attempts to create differences between castes. After the SC categorisation and Kapu issue, he is now pitting the SCs and the fishermen against one another,” the JSP president charged.

Recalling the offer from the Bahujan Samaj Party in 2009 asking him to head the party’s State unit, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that he had rejected it then as he had decided to support his elder brother Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party.

“Now, I am contesting the elections to usher a change in society. I don’t want money and position, as I can earn money by acting in films and get a political post by making a request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.

JSP manifesto

Referring to the party’s manifesto, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said complete prohibition was the request made by many women and scrapping of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) was the lone request made by the government employees.

“In addition, we are also focusing on improving the living conditions of the Muslims,” he said, exuding confidence that the JSP would become the king-maker in the State post the 2019 elections.

During his interaction with the residents of Kolleru, Mr. Pawan Kalyan assured them that he would visit the place to get first-hand information about the ground realities. He alleged that the local MLA was behaving like an anti-social element, but no action was being initiated against him by the government.
