Top Japanese firms may invest in A.P.

About eight leading electronics and IT companies of Japan evinced interest in setting up their units in Andhra Pradesh, said IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy here on Monday.

Mr.Raghunatha Reddy, who returned after participating in the Japan IT Week and Electronics Exposition from May 13 to 16 along with IT department officials said the visit helped in promoting the State in areas of mutual interest between Japan and Andhra Pradesh.

The Minister who took part in Round Table discussions with senior officials of Japan External Trade Organisation, heads of Genesys Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation, members of India IT Forum and later met top leaders of Sony, NTT , Toshiba, Farukawa Electric Corporation, Panosonic corporation during his visit said the interactions were positive.

The Japanese corporate companies were positive about the initiatives taken by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to promote IT and electronic sector in the State.The delegations from these companies may visit the State in the next couple of weeks. The visit to the IT exhibition where 1,500 high-end products in IT, electronics, helped the State team understand the latest trends and best practices that could be incorporated here, he said.
