The claims of development made by the State government in its advertisements are far from truth, alleges YSR Congress Party leader Botcha Satyanarayana.

“Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has released a series of advertisements highlighting the developmental activities. But he does not say anything about the people reeling under a spell of dengue and viral fevers and why most of the 104 ambulances are stationed in garages,” Mr. Satyanarayana said while addressing the media here on Monday.

In one advertisement, it was claimed that ₹10,000 was being given to DWCRA women. But let Mr. Naidu show proof of at least one woman receiving the amount.

Invesments

“Why tell lies and misguide the people?” he questioned. The government also claimed that it had given ₹3,000 crore to the Kapu welfare fund and cleared farmers’ loan of ₹25,000 crore. These amounts had been allocated in the budget and did not reach the beneficiaries, he alleged. Referring to the partnership summits, the YSRCP leader said, “The Chief Minister claims that investments of ₹6 lakh crore have been signed in the three summits. But the reality is different. In the last four years, the State has received an investment of only ₹4,538 crore, which is not even 1% of his claims.”

Mr. Satyanarayana asked the Chief Minister to show at least one private sector investment in the Brandix Apparel Park.

“Former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had brought Brandix to Vizag, and today it employs 18,000 people,” he said.

He also faulted the TDP for the delay in the execution of works on the proposed Bhogapuram international airport. He pointed out that the SIT that had been constituted to investigate the land scams in Visakhapatnam was eyewash.

“If the intentions are right, let the government make the SIT report public,” he said.
