The Hyderabad police have ruled out any connection between damage to the car of social activist Sunita Krishnan and the two rape video clips posted by her on social networking sites couple of days ago.

The police conducted a preliminary inquiry at the spot and felt that some persons who are familiar with the social activist’s Sunita Krishnan’s movements might have damaged the car. “Chances of those persons who are seen in the videos posted by her on YouTube are remote. It is difficult for any person to come from a different State and damage the car,” DCP (South) V. Satyanarayana told reporters at a press conference.

He added that Ms. Krishnan, has issues with some people here and other districts of Telangana regarding her rescue and rehabilitation work involving women and it could be their handiwork. Moreover, there is also a college near her office and some student might have damaged the windscreen by pelting a stone, he said.

Unidentified persons damaged the windscreen of a Safari car belonging to the social activist while it was parked near her office at Charminar bus stand on Friday afternoon. Two special teams have been formed to investigate the case.

Meanwhile, the Cyber Crime Cell of Hyderabad city police are investigating the content of the video clips uploaded by Ms. Krishnan on social networking sites. Hyderabad Commissioner, M. Mahendar Reddy on Friday told reporters that initial indications are that none of those in the clips appeared to be from Hyderabad.
