The Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has given clear instructions to principals of all colleges offering Intermediate courses (both general and vocational streams) not to allow admission in the second year for students who have studied first year in Telangana.
In a statement on Tuesday, BIE Secretary B. Udaya Lakshmi said the syllabus in the two States was different and therefore, students interested in joining the Intermediate course in AP colleges, should do it in the first year itself.
The heads of the Intermediate colleges have also been asked to seek the BIE permission before admitting students who studied in other States/boards. The colleges have been asked to take up admissions in two phases.
Sale of applications
In the first phase, sale of application forms have been made available from May 14 (Tuesday), the last date for receipt of applications in the college is June 29 (Saturday), date of commencement of admissions is June 3 (Monday) and date of completion of admissions in the first phase is June 29 (Saturday).
The schedule of the second phase of admissions, she said, would be communicated in due course, adding that classes for first and second year students would commence from June 3. The Principals could allow provisional admissions on the basis of Internet marks memos and these admissions would be confirmed after the production of original SSC pass certificate and Transfer Certificate issued by the school authorities, where they last studied.
Admissions should be made based on the Grade Point Average (GPA) and subject-wise Grade Point (GP) obtained in the qualifying examination and no test should be conducted for admission.
Principals of unaided colleges have been asked to admit students only up to the sanctioned sections.
