Naidu to launch padayatra tomorrow

To create awareness about ‘Smart Village, Ward and Andhra Pradesh’ programme

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will go on padayatra to formally launch and create awareness about the ‘Smart Village, Ward and Andhra Pradesh’ programme from Velivennu village of West Godavari district on January 18 coinciding with death anniversary of Telugu Desam founder president N.T. Rama Rao.

All the Ministers and legislators will also go on padayatra in their respective constituencies to launch the significant programme conceived for poverty alleviation, removing economic disparities, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness in every village and ward to achieve the ultimate goal of happy and smart Andhra Pradesh, said Advisor of Communications Parakala Prabhakar. Addressing media persons here on Friday, Mr. Prabhakar said all the legislators, MPs, IAS, IPS, IFS, Group I officers, NRIs, Non-Resident Villagers, companies under the Corporate Social Responsibility will adopt one village /ward each and become partners in their development by assessing and utilising existing resources of village or ward, their requirements in the gram sabha and come out with the micro plan.

Portal

A portal will be launched to facilitate registration of those interested in adopting village/ward and in the next 60 days, the development of these centres will be entrusted to them. A steering committee comprising Panchayat Raj, Municipal Admininstration, Rural water supply, Rural Development, Woman and Child Development, Education, Civil Supplies machinery and headed by Chief Minister will monitor implementation and at districts, Collectors will lead.
