Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has written a letter to NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar to postpone its Governing Council meeting in view of Id-ul-Fitr.

Mr. Naidu, in his letter on Wednesday, said the State government welcomed the holding of the 4th meeting of the Council.

“Since the festival on June l6 and June 17 is very important to the Muslim minority community, our presence in the State headquarters is essential,” he said.

“The meeting can be postponed, preferably to forenoon of June 18 or at least to afternoon of June 17. We expect a positive consideration of our request.”

Reports sought

Mr. Naidu held a review meeting on issues to be presented at the meeting. He asked officials to prepare reports on bifurcation issues and funding given by the Central government so far, including grants for backward districts.

He asked them to prepare details of implementation and beneficiaries under the Centrally-funded health schemes like the Aayushman Bharat, the Pradhanmantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission, the Poshan Mission and the Indradhanush Agriculture and allied sectors, doubling farmers’ income, e-NAM reforms in marketing etc issues. The MGNREGS funds spent so far and dues pending with the Centre would also be raised.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Energy Minister Kala Venkat Rao, Transport Minster K. Atchannaidu and others were present.
