Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Tuesday trapped Municipal Administration Regional Director V. Rajendra Prasad when he was allegedly receiving Rs. 50,000 bribe from a complainant.
The officer reportedly demanded the amount from M. Vinod, a Junior Assistant in the Pedana municipality, for dropping charges against him.
Following a complaint, the ACB team, led by DSP V. Gopalakrishna, laid a trap and seized the amount from Prasad at the R&B guest house at Tiruvuru. The officer will now be produced before the ACB Court in Vijayawada.
