Miscreants chop off hands of a woman, kidnap husband

They lift a bike parked in front of the house

Unidentified miscreants allegedly chopped off the hands of a woman and kidnapped her husband after spraying some liquid on them.

According to Sub-Inspector Sobhan Kumar, the miscreants entered the house of Mummidi Subrahmanyam near Gopalbaba Ashram on the outskirts, after midnight of Friday. They first chopped off the hands of his wife Subbalakshmi and injured her on her neck and legs. She was left unconscious and while leaving the house, the miscreants allegedly kidnapped the husband and lifted a bike parked in front of the house.

When Subbalakshmi regained consciousness in the early hours of Saturday, she started screaming for which her neighbours responded and informed the police. They shifted her to Kakinada General Hospital. The police said that Mr. Subrahmanyam was working as railway employee in Bilaspur, Chhattisgharh, and allegedly owing to to family disputes, Ms. Subbalakshmi was staying alone in Pithapuram.
