Several thousands of people from all walks of life overwhelmingly participated in a ‘Maha Manavaharam’ on Kadapa outer ring road on Wednesday, demanding united State on the 50th day of the anti-bifurcation movement.

Striking government employees, workers, teachers, RTC employees, students, farmers, women and others stood hand in hand in the 36-km-long mega human chain programme under the leadership of Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samithi chairman and Additional Joint Collector M. Sudarshan Reddy.

District Revenue Officer N. Easwaraiah, Kadapa Revenue Divisional Officer V. Veerabrahmam, Kadapa Municipal Commissioner P. Chandramouleeswar Reddy, Minority Corporation ED Srinivasulu, ZP CEO Malyadri, NGOs JAC chairman P. Siva Reddy, Teachers’ JAC chairman G.V. Narayana Reddy and others participated.

The leaders demanded the Congress leadership to gauge the intensity of the 50-day-old united State movement and drop the bifurcation proposals.

The agitation in which people of all walks of life were voluntarily participating was more peaceful in Kadapa district, than during the freedom movement, Mr. Sudarshan Reddy remarked. The agitation would continue until the Congress retracts from its decision, they warned.

Other leaders advised the Congress leadership to not test the patience of the people, but announce continuation of the united State. People of Kadapa, Chennur, Vallur, Siddhavatam, Pendlimarry and Chintakommadinne took part in the programme.

The agitators alleged that the bifurcation was proposed for political gains. Students of Pushpagiri School led by its director M. Vivekananda Reddy carried a large national flag and participated at Built-Up junction. Easwaraiah, BC Sangham leader C.R.I. Subba Reddy, Congress leader Ashraf Ali Khan, businessman Salauddin and others participated at IRKON circle.

Nagarjuna Model School students dressed up as Sri Krishnadevarayalu, Potti Sreeramulu, Telugu Thalli and Alluri Seetharama Raju and Crescent School students and principal Jilani Basha also participated.
