The South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur, the Young Men’s Hindu Association, Eluru, will jointly organise a ‘Lok-folk’ festival at YMHA Hall here on March 21 as part of the three-day Indian dance festival, according to K.V. Satyanarayana, a spokesman of the YMHA. The dance festival will commence on March 21 and last till 23. In all 45 artistes, representing different art forms, are attending the three-day programme.
The festival will showcase ‘Dolu Nrutyam’ by N. Ravindar Kumar’s troupe from Karimnagar, ‘Khadigammat’ by Harischandra Borkar Sakoli and his team from Maharastra, ‘Gudumbaja’ by Lekhpal Dhurve Dindorihi’s troupe from Madhya Pradesh and ‘Bonalu’ by Vedapalli Srinivas troupe from Secunderabad. Satish Wankhede, a senior official, and Deepak Kulkarni, Programme Officer, from the will be the chief guests at the inaugural function.
Kuchipudi dances‘Andhra Natyam’ by Mr. Kalakrishna, Kuchipudi dance by Anupama Mohan and ‘Nrutyakshari’ by Mr. K.V. Satyanarayana will be presented on March 22. The final day will be completely devoted to Kuchipudi dances. Vyjayanti Kasi troupe from Bangalore, Vempati Ravishankar troupe from Kuchipudi and Ms. Bala Kondala Rao troupe from Visakhapatnam will present different shades of Kuchipudi dance.
