Loan waiver: ryots should apply before May 15

Farmers who could not benefit of loan waiver scheme should apply before May 15 along with status reports obtained from Mee-Seva centres, according to Srikakulam Agriculture Department Joint Director Ch.Applaswamy.

According to him, as many as 2,396 farmers applied to the State government to get the benefits as their names were not included initially. The government has already released Rs. 387 crore and disbursed around Rs. 360 crore to 2.84 lakh farmers in the district.

Addressing a media conference here on Tuesday, he assured that the government would extend the benefits to the family members if eligible farmers died recently.
