Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister N. China Rajappa on Monday said efforts were on to credit the first instalment of loan waiver to the bank accounts of beneficiaries of women self-help groups (SHGs) by June 2.

“As part of fulfilling the poll promises, the government is making arrangements to implement loan waiver for members of women SHGs. The waiver will be done in instalments beginning next month,” he said. The Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the concrete road at Kongodu in Karapa mandal.

Mr. Rajappa said training in skill development would be imparted to women and unemployed youth, with focus on SCs, STs and BCs. “Over 55 lakh farmers have been benefited for farm loan waiver so far. The waiver will be implemented for the remaining farmers in a phased manner,” he added.
