Interactions with public
Organisers of the first-of-its-kind event Vadrevu Veeralakshmi Devi, Vakkalanka Ramakrsihna, S.R.S. Jagannadha Rao and Kallakuri Sailaja, at a press conference here on Monday, said that the walkathon was aimed at creating awareness among the younger generation about the importance of Telugu language and literature.
“Besides the inaugural and valedictory sessions at Polamuru on December 7 evening and at Chandrampalem on December 10 evening, respectively, we are also going to interact with the public in general and students in particular en route,” they said.
“The walkathon will be held for three days and three nights. We are going to cover 15 km a day and conduct literary sessions at the venue of our night stays,” they said. Writers and poets from faraway places were evincing interest in taking part in the walk and some of them were planning to walk at least for one day during the event, they said.
