Less registrations on Day One

January 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:12 am IST - Chittoor:

The HSNP has been made mandatory in the district, with the exercise commencing from Saturday. According to the Deputy Transport Commissioner (Chittoor), as many as 32 registrations were made under the jurisdiction of Chittoor division on Saturday, the lowest compared to the daily average of 80.

The officials attributed the slump to Sankranti. Less number of registrations was reported in Madanapalle and Tirupati. From Monday onwards, the registrations are expected to go high, as is usual every year.

The official said that according to norms, four categories of plates were arranged for all new registrations.

“As and when the fresh guidelines come, we will implement them,” the official said.
