Kids flock to take part in competitions

About 600 schoolchildren participated in essay writing, drawing and elocution competitions held in Srikakulam district library which conducted the events in association with the Srikakulam Education Department.

The library which celebrates its golden jubilee year on November 14 organised these for the youngsters of 38 mandals.

The essay competition was on life histories of Mahatma Gandhiji and Abdul Kalam, according to the secretary district library chairman P.Vithal Rao and Secretary M. Satyanarayana.

The winners will be sent to Vijayawada for State level competitions to be held in the first week of November.
