The recent wedding of Paritala Sriram, son of slain TDP leader Paritala Ravi, saw bonhomie between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The cordiality has its echo in the remote Velamavaripalem village, near Ballikurava in Prakasam district, with a group of enthusiastic TDP activists going to the extent of putting up posters with pictures of, among others, NTR, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, and Mr. Naidu in connection with the ruling party’s ongoing ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam’ programme.
The posters have become the talk of the town in the faction-ridden Addanki Assembly constituency, where families of MLA Gottipati Ravikumar, who crossed over from the YSR Congress to the TDP, and MLC Karnam Balarama Krishnamurthy rule the roost. The posters went viral on the social media on Wednesday.
“We have great admiration for KCR who started his political career in the TDP before floating the TRS and becoming the Chief Minister,” said sarpanch N. Praveen Kumar while talking to The Hindu .
One family member or the other from the village settled in Hyderabad and wanted both the States to cooperate and flourish, a group of villagers said.
People of the village dominated by the Velama community, from which Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao hailed, follow the developments in Telangana. They appreciated the style of functioning of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K.T. Rama Rao.
Mr. Ravikumar was unavailable for comments on the posters.
